The awakening
of primitive creativity
in nature
14,15,16 july 2023
What we will do?
Ceramics is the common thread of this experience, in which we will guide you and give you the tools to develop your own creativity through this ancestral discipline.
The calm and tranquility of nature will be our backdrop.
During the weekend we will focus on primitive techniques that will make us understand the origin of clay modeling. We will learn to connect with the material through the senses and we will create pieces calmly, thanks to an environment that will invite us to focus on the present.
The place we have chosen to live this creative retreat is a Cantabrian manor house of the eighteenth century surrounded by centenary trees, in the nearby forests we will discover the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku by the hand of Cristina Rodríguez and we will have the honor of enjoying throughout the stay the delicious food of Juan Jiménez, A great chef who will cook us calmly and with care.
Where?
We will make the experience in a manor house that is located in Barcenaciones, a hidden treasure in the heart of Cantabria, which enjoys a strategic location close to some of the most popular destinations in the region.
Despite being a few kilometers from Cabezón de la Sal, Santillana del Mar, Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera or Torrelavega, it retains its traditional village charm with cobbled streets and stone and wooden houses.

Meet the team
Sonia and Jaime, the artisans behind época, have created this unique experience to share their love for this ancestral discipline. They will accompany you in each of the workshops and guide you on a journey of discovery towards your own creativity.
Cristina, our certified forest bathing guide will lead Shinrin Yoku Forest Bath, a sensory immersion in nature that promotes wellness and encourages relaxation through various mindfulness techniques. This experience consists of using the senses, slowing down the pace of our walk and entering the forest consciously, in order to reconnect emotionally with our natural environment.
Juan Jiménez has 20 years of experience as a chef, now he has taken distance looking for tranquility in the world of wine and writing, his new leisurely approach, his wisdom and experience, will enrich the careful culinary part of this weekend.
